Regenerate Student Default Password (File Upload)

The NCEdCloud Student Password Regeneration (File Upload) workflow allows LEA Administrators to regenerate student default passwords. Administrators can also choose to reset current student passwords to the newly generated values using a file upload.

UID FILE (TEXT FORMAT) (Required)(Upload):Click the 'Browse' button, navigate to your file directory, and upload a file that contains a list of Student UIDs.

File formatting:

  • File must be save as a .txt file
  • No file headers
  • Each line should contain a single numeric UID with 10 or less digits

Example file

PSU CODE (Required): 3-digit PSU Code of the requesting LEA Administrator

ALSO RESET CURRENT PASSWORD (Optional)(Checkbox): Check this box to set the newly generated Student default passwords as their current password

FORCE PASSWORD CHANGE AT NEXT LOGIN (Optional)(Checkbox): Check this box to require the Students to change their password on their next login

What if I can't see the "Regenerate Student Default Password (File Upload)" request in the catalog?

You will need to have the LEA Administrator Role in order to access this request. More information on requesting Privileged Roles can be found here: Privileged Roles Info

What happens after I submit the "Regenerate Student Default Password (File Upload)" form?

After submitting the 'Regenerate Student Default Password (File Upload)' request, please check the inbox of the email associated with your NCEdCloud account. If there is an issue with the uploaded file, you will receive an email with instructions on how to resolve it. If you do not receive any emails, you can verify the request by visiting the People module in NCEdCloud to confirm that the Students default passwords were regenerated.
